A Reflection on Artists, Patriots, Matyrs and Gods: Qu Wan – this dance theatre production, by City Contemporary Dance Company’s Artistic Director, Willy Tsao, follows the tragic life of Qu Wan (c.340-278 BC). Known as the patriotic statesman-poet who staunchly kept his loyalty to the King and fought against the corruption surrounding him, Qu Wan ultimately resorted to martyrdom. Tsao brings this story to the 21st Century assisted by choreographers Dominic Wong and Bruce Wong, composer Samsun Young and set /costume designer Yuri Ng.
