Fag vs Fag Hag April 2010

DS: What’s your favourite thing to do on a Sunday in Hong Kong?

FAG: Sundays… In order to answer this question I try to remember what I did the last few Sundays.

…, …, …, …, …

Hmm I guess I was mostly nursing my hangover. Oops!

FAG HAG: My Sundays are always dictated by what I do the night before…. however, usually, I like to lounge about with a group of friends over a nice bottle of pinot noir and delicious finger food while the sun goes down…

DS: What do you love most about Hong Kong?

FAG: Hong Kong is truly an amazing place. What I love the most about Hong Kong is the perfect mixture of everything East and West. Wanna drink an Iced Latte while eating a fresh out the oven egg tart, no problem! One minute you are standing on a busy street surrounded by skyscrapers, banker-wankers and fashion billboards, the next minute you are in an narrow lane walking through a Chinese-style wet market buying bloody fish. You can find a French bistro, an Italian Deli, a Starbucks, a Cantonese Cha Chaan Teng and a McDonalds on (almost) every given street in Hong Kong. And if that’s not enough, this very magazine you are reading is bilingual

FAG HAG: I love the fact that whatever you want to do in Hong Kong, people are always willing to give you a chance. It’s so pure in that sense. People want to see you succeed. People want to see you happy. It’s something that’s unique to Hong Kong.

DS: What do you hate most about Hong Kong?

FAG:To be honest, I don’t like how this city is so fast-paced and ever-changing. Everything comes and goes without warning. Found a favourite restaurant? Half the time it won’t even be there next you go back, without a trace. Same applies for new friends you met, you found this new bond with this new bunch of friends, BLINK! They are all moving to the next exciting city! Oh did I tell you half of the men I dated move across the globe to avoid me? Oh well, mind you, I am that scary! Ask yourself, can you handle this? ;-)

FAG HAG: Hong Kong’s air quality issues… I find it absolutely disgraceful that a government continues to take no action to reduce the quality of air and that there are warning measures in place that advise people whether or not to stay indoors! This is horrendous and completely unacceptable. All human beings are entitled to breathe in good clean air. They should start to replace ALL old buses and trucks and implement green energy – everywhere… and not in a few years…. Immediately! It’s that simple… If Hong Kong continues to ignore this however, then from a business standpoint, it will cease to become so alluring to expats and more difficult to recruit highly skilled people. Why stay here and make yourself sick, when you can move to another great city and be healthy?
