On the other hand, if you’re young, of dubious talent, yet determined to make a splash in the bizz, you can always release an album like Ke$ha’s Animal. Certain young women these days have decided that the best way to force their way into the record buying public’s consciousness is to come screaming out of the blocks with overt sexuality held high in one hand and brash, vulgar posturing in the other. “I never thought you’d be the one, acting like a slut when I was gone, maybe you shouldn’t kiss and tell, you really should have kept it in your pants…” from Kiss N Tell sums up the “let’s piss off our parents” vibe that runs throughout Animal. However despite the vapid vocals one thing that’s true of the whole album is that it’s as catchy as hell. So given the in your face vocals and the ass shaking quality of the record it’s bound to sell in droves. But don’t get me wrong, it might be catchy, but it’s also one of the most annoying records, ever!
