Famed as much for their ability to spot hip, up and coming new musical acts as much as for their ability to put really consistent sets together, forming wholly worthwhile compilations, Kitsuné are back with Maison 9. This outing conjures up images of spiky haired Parisian teenagers and scruffy French beach kids; preppy, pouting cool kids playing punk rock. Of course that’s probably not really the case, but there’s a likeable youthful vibe all over this set. Once again there are many standouts worthy of making your iPod. These include The Good Natured Your Body is a Machine, Silver Columns Brow Beaten, Two Door Cinema Club Something Good Can Work, Hurts Wonderful Life, Crookers ft. Yelle Cooler Coleur and Holy Ghost! Say My Name. Maison 9’s playlist isn’t as grown-up as some of its predecessors, but that’s the point. We all remember our teenage days, seems in 2010 they sound a bit like this.
