The omnipresent pop star from New York is back with an updated re-package of the mega hit debut album The Fame. The original is here with an extra bonus track but The Fame Monster itself is an EP containing 8 new tracks. And the good news is that it’s much more innovative than the original. From big beat, catchy lead single Bad Romance Gaga races off with a fresh set that even features a duet with Beyonce on Telephone and a convincing re-lick of Abba’s Alejandro. Elsewhere Teeth shows that this singer is prepared to keep pushing musical boundaries. Monster’s 8 new tracks aren’t all huge winners but they are fresh and punchy tunes that add weight to the original release and seem to demonstrate that Gaga may be much more than a simple passing phenomenon; the tunes are big and loud much like the lady herself. The cover shot by Hedi Slimane is as inspired as the music within.
