If the world was advertising for the position of Fabulous In-yer-face Lipstick Lesbian Dominatrix Babe, Peaches would definitely be the only qualified candidate. The album starts with Serpentine,one of several awesome tracks in which Peaches asserts that she has outlasted the electro clash scene, and perhaps she is correct. One of the great things about this album is how at ease Peaches is with her unique status and several tracks drop some sweet little lyrical gems which self-reference her staying power in music. References no doubt aimed at the latest crop of wannabes, none more so than Lady Gaga. In fact if Gaga was twenty years older and had more talent you may have an idea of where Peaches is. Grandly self aware she may be, but her dirty club music is joyous as much as it’s teasing and beating the listener into submission, as any self respecting dominatrix should be doing. Title track I Feel Cream is almost giddy, hands in the air rave, except that it restrains itself and sits back just behind the euphoria. The album is full of near perfect tracks which include the aforementioned Serpentine and title track, as well as More, Billionaire and Mommy Complex. Born Merrill Beth Nisker this former elementary school music teacher has some much, much more interesting lessons in store for those clever enough to add this gem to their record collections.
